IMMO Debuts in Sri Lanka with an Inspiring Ifthar Gathering

Colombo, Sri Lanka – March 18, 2025

The International Muslim Minorities Organization (IMMO) made its official debut in Sri Lanka with a memorable Ifthar gathering in Colombo, attended by academics, journalists, and community leaders. The event marked a significant milestone in IMMO’s global journey to empower Muslim minorities worldwide.

Prof. Fareena Ruzaik, Head of Geography at the University of Colombo, presented IMMO’s vision and mission, while Najah Mohamed MA (UK), Founder of IMMO, shared the organization’s origin and aspirations. A lively discussion moderated by Mr. Javid Yousuf, Former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, emphasized unity and civic engagement. Mr. Mohamed Faslan delivered the vote of thanks, and Ms. Ajra Azhar compered the event. The evening concluded with an Ifthar meal, reflecting IMMO’s core values of faith, dialogue, and solidarity. The event marks the beginning of IMMO’s active engagement with Sri Lanka’s Muslim community and its global mission.
